Curriculum
We are a Reggio Emilia inspired, play-based school, and the goal of our curriculum is to stimulate theory-building. Our kids are curious and eager to learn, so we listen and value their questions. Even when they don't ask the questions themselves, it is part of the educator's work to observe the kids' play and provide tools that will keep and expand the children's curiosity.
We use the emergent curriculum approach, which is based on exploring what is social relevant, intellectually engaging and personally meaningful to children. Starting from a theme that is intriguing and interesting to the group, we stimulate our kids to ask questions about it, build and test theories, and consequently, develop their cognitive and social-emotional skills. The process is child-centered and play is our medium.
We are also committed to promoting anti-bias education, using our curriculum and experiences to talk about racial, able-ness, gender, economic and institutional justice.
We are a DELC licensed Certified Family Preschool and part of the qualified pool for Preschool for All Pilot Sites.
