Flow
We are a constructivist school, and we believe that children should be free to create their own experiences based on their personal interests. This is how the magic happens! Children need a structured and a familiar routine to feel safe and thrive, and they also need time for their projects and amazing ideas without being interrupted - it's all about balance. That's why we don't have that hour-by-hour schedule. Our day looks like this:
Welcomes
After everyone gets settled and welcomed, we sit together to eat our morning snack. We clean up and get together for our morning circle time, when we sing, read books, and kids share their plans for the day.
Quiet time
We call the next 2 hours our quiet time! Children can take naps, rest or work on quiet projects.
Morning
For the rest of the morning, children have the materials, space and time available for free play, project work, arts and science. We also make sure we step outside to extend our play every morning.
Afternoon
At 2pm, we eat the afternoon snack. After that, kids have a couple of hours to engage in workshops and special activities. We also make the time to go outside again.
Mid-Day
Around 11:30am, we start the preparation for lunch: cleaning up, setting up the table and getting ready - 12pm is lunchtime. Preparing and sharing food is an important part of our routine.
Goodbyes
At the end of day, we sit together again to wrap it up, reflect on our day, say our goodbyes and get ready for pickups.
